The idea of making lpb's available is not new, and while I'm not opposed to making a few available, I don't think it will make the game any more popular. There are already some of Kheper's levels with solutions on the web site. Perhaps, if it was done, the ghs holder and the author would have to agree, perhaps the lpb wouldn't be the ghs but a longer one. But I still don't agree that this will make the game more popular. I love this game, and have tried to get others interested, but there is just too much else out there to grab people's interest. I think it will always be a very esoteric niche that a few will always love.
It's sort of the same topic: has any one else had problems with LaserTank in Vista. I've uninstalled and re-installed, but the way Vista manages files is quite quirky as far as the LT program is concerned. Also, if you use the Update program, no modification will happen unless you have the "run as administrator" tab checked. This gives you an annoying splash screen every time you open LT, but if you don't have this checked, NO levels will be modified. I've tested it so far as to edit a level slightly, then re-open LT and if the Run as administrator box is not checked, the level remains without your modifications. Check the "run as administrator" tab, and presto, the modifications are there. If you don't read your log in the Update program (I never did) you can go on forever without realizing some of your levels are out of date.
Anyway, I hope LaserTank has a long life, but it will have to keep up with MS if it does.
