Jim,
I don't know if you
remember, in the time of Lasertank 3.1,
when lasertank.lvl had 730 levels,
and the temp file had around 500 levels,
i had produced for myself 6 separate
levels file.
One for each difficulty :
(NR.lvl Kids.lvl, Easy.lvl, Medium.lvl, Hard.lvl and Deadly.lvl)
It has been an enormous
amount of work, because i had also synchronized the GHS file,
and my
own LPB files and my own HS file.
I had sent you all this,
and you hadn't been interested.
You had said that there was no need to
separate the levels like this due to the fact
that there is a difficulty
selector included in the game.
Also, if we have another
separate levels file, it means to manage an other separate GHS file,
another
High Score Pages, another LPB section etc.. etc..
For my part, i think that
the players can choose to play the levels they prefer by themselves.
If we have too many
separate levels files, a lot of people will never know that they
exist.
This is my
opinion
Donald
P.S. To Yogesh : Another solution could be, to produce
a list of the prefered levels that has been chosen by the High Scores
holders.
This list could be named "The Experts's Choices" or something like
that, and this list could be added somewhere in the Lasertank
Pages.
