It seems theres dichotomy between the level creators and the level solvers :-) Actually level creators are not that bad.
If I have no idea then go to and sit in front of my computer to create some levels, probably Ill get nothing. I have had the sketches before I go to the computer. I have special code (easy to draw, like E for rightward anti-tank, X for solid block, ~ for water, etc.) for each LT object. When I was trapped in a jammed parking space, I created Anti-tank parking space and Parking bewilderment. When I saw on TV that in China (Shanghai?) there was a shopping mart that the buyers use carts while shopping, I created Future mart. When my neighbor had kidney problem, I created Kidney transplantation. When I noticed in a computer shopping center that cargo should be carried in different elevators, I created Tank and cargo tunnels. And so on. If you see $1.00 = £0.625 = ¥120.0, I didnt make up the numbers. The exchange rates were valid that day. When I listened The Planets (by Gustav Holst), I could easily created The Bringer of War and The Winged Messenger. I forced to create the Bringer of Peace and The Bringer of Jollity (the most popular movement of The Planets) but failed badly. Inspiration cant be forced.
One weekend in mid of June 2003, I finished about twenty levels at once. At 4 AM (Monday morning) I lost them all because of stupid mistake. I re-created them in the following weekend. Therefore, you could play Hijacking in outer space, Sliding doors, Two cherry flowers, etc. (I always remember all those names.)
Back to moves vs shots:
I remember there is a movie (in the genre of Terminator and RoboCop).
The bad guy grabs a lady as hostage. The robot has his gun pointed to them.
The robot has no clear sight to the bad guy. Should the robot move to the
left or right? No! The robot makes a simple calculation then shoots to
the wall. The bullet is reflected by the wall and it hits the bad guy.
Isnt that smart?
Have a nice weekend.
Bye,
