Python that huge must be the reticulated python (Python reticulatus), which is comparable in size with the giant South American water boa (known as the anaconda).
The hatchling pythons are 26 to 35 inches long and weigh 4 to 5 ounces. From the time they hatch these snakes are also predators and they can kill and eat small mice, rats, lizards and frogs.
Unfortunately, many people hunt the reticulated python for their meat and skins.
I read that Guddi, a 17-year girl, was swallowed by a python in the state of Uttar Pradesh, North India about two weeks ago. (News from New Delhi Television on December 12, 2003.) She was playing with her little sister, Raju Devi (12), outside of their house in the Ghera Village, Unnao District (55 km from Lucknow, the capital), when the snake suddenly out of its nest, snapped, took, and swallowed her.
Bye,
Suyono

Finally - Happy holidays and New Year - I've been a recluse and grinch, busy Lasertanking on the holidays, but I always read everyone's messages. I'm sure there's lots of others out there waiting for either a spare moment or a juicy topic of conversation to jump in and give their two cents.Yono, Yono! This seems genuine and it's all over the media - there's a 50 foot 1000 pound python named Fragrant Flower captured live in Sumatra and being held in a small zoo in Curugsewu, on the main Indonesian island of Java. This is HUGE!!! What light can you shed on this? There's many news articles on the web if you search "python" & "fragrant flower". Here's the only pic I found, but has no scale to determine size:
