- keeps sending empty messages without
subject to the group, it's normal if we
raise question, "What's the intention of
the sender?" He/she always put
"commercial" attachment. Most of us
(including me) don't want to try to open
such kind of attachments. Henry Clark
found out (again) that the latest
attachment (of message #6377) had virus.
He wrote further, "It seems that some
action would be appropriate at this
point."
With or without virus, those messages
gave no advantage to everyone. So far,
the real owner of the email ID (Jim
Kindley) has never given any
clarification. I think the administrator
may directly send him email message
asking for explanation. If there's no
response, it's safe for the
administrator to remove the ID from the
group. If Jim complains in the future,
the administrator can explain the
problem and reinstate the ID and its
moderator status.
There are too many possibilities. E.g.:
What if Jim has left the company and
someone else uses his email ID?
About the virus:
If Henry is curious with the source of
the virus and needs help from others at
one side and Steve is willing to try to
find the solution at other side, Henry
can send the full message header (of
#6377) directly to Steve's email
address. (Some people don't want to put
the full message header on the forum's
board.)
