Maybe others are interested in running lasertank on linux...
I just tried lasertank on a linux box, redhat 7.1, with the
prebuild binary wine-cvs-opengl-030503-1.i386.rpm from
http://wine.dataparty.no
lt4setup.exe installs fine and the game appears to run ok, including
sound and the editor.
The only thing that doesn't work is the windows help. There is also
a small drawing problem with the original graphics set: when pushing a
mobile block on water the image of the block is superposed
to the mud, but it's not very disturbing for the play experience.
However, when changing to other graphics set (Jungle_Command.ltg) the
problem dissapeared.
I know Wine is not perfect (will never be, I suppose) and that a
native port would be a much better solution, but the game is actually
very wine-playable in my opinion.
MF.
I would send a screenshot but I dont know how.
Can we post screenshots in this group? If yes, how?
