Ok, I admit, I forgot to ask the question: "are there any more LONG levels I don't know about?" Sorry.
I am still convinced that it's good to fix the the program and allow for recordings for > 65K moves. Even the high score files could be redefined.
I also suggest to add a standard input Replay function to the program.
This would mean that you don't need a lpb file, you only need a program
that generates it's contents and pipes it into the game, e.g.:
c:\> trinarycounterIVlpb.exe | lasertank.exe
It should work in very fast replay mode, of course.
Even then, it may take years to complete Trinary Counter levels.
Assuming 1 000 000 moves/sec:
trinary counter 1: 9.4e10 moves ~26h
trinary counter 2: 2.8e12 moves ~777h
trinary counter 3: 3.5e14 moves ~97222h=266 years
trinary counter 4: 1.0e15 moves ~761 years
Well. there is no hope. tc4 would need 2 processor cycle/move
playback speed on a 3GHz PentiumIV to complete within a week:(
That is far behind possibility. Still, for tcI, it could be interesting. Then, a four byte unsigned integer will be too SHORT
for the high score:)
I also suggest to start another contest:
Complex playback contest.
See next post.
