I am glad do hear that you are thinking about further developments.
I agree with funnybunny that there are minor changes that could make the program even better. I think it won't be hard to find someone who is ready to make these corrections. I mean things like better level selection, say: one input field for either level number or search string, then enter starts search. And take a look into my suggestions in older messages and in polls about complex playing features like macro keys.
Another direction the game could take is level solving. I remember there has been a guy who wrote a sokoban solver for easyer levels. It was able to find the shortest solution. It would be interesting to consult him, his name is Scott Lindhurst.
Concerning LTank Gold, I think a hexagonal board could also be worth a try. I know it's not easy to implement the graphical part and current graphics would be of no use. But... I mean if you redesign the game, it should have something really new in it.
Another approach is to move from discrete to continuous. Why not write a logic game that is not bound to a 16*16 grid and uses the whole screen as a continuous game area at pixel level?
Do you know Elastomania? It is a motorbike game written by a
Hungarian guy ;-) I am convinced that ideas from that game could be used to write a very interesting logic game.
that's for now
