ah. that at least at explains the lack of a subject. i was
thinking "how lazy can someone be to not bother typing in a subject."
it made it more difficult to backtrack your problem.
back to the virus problem - i do not consider it "trivial", but if
you or anyone else are concerned about the source of the virus, you
need to provide the full message to the group with full headers
including IP's and servers for other people to examine the source.
please understand my point regarding providing full information:
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/Lasertank/message/6357
similar problems have been solved in the past, but it requires
participation and not just handing off a vague ill-defined problem
for someone else to solve.
someone may want to correct me on this next point, but i believe it
is yahoo that removes the file attachment that contains the virus, so
it never actually reaches your PC, and anyone who receives messages
by email is probably receiving the same message as you.
if you do not care, and are simply annoyed at the attack on yahoo by
a virus, switch to a daily digest and you will never even know that
the attack occured. i switched to the digest and have had no virus-
related problems or msgs.
donald or someone else will be able to determine if an additional
identifier can be added to the subject, but i doubt it's possible as
yahoo simply re-routes the original messages.
