I understand & agree with the bug definition (, which does not fit
an "odd consequence of the program's logic"). AT firing order,
standing on water, faster-than-light conveyors &c are exotic features
enriching the game. Also, even authentic bugs do not necessarily bug
humans - and when they do, those humans tend to be programmers, not
gamers.
LaserTank laws of physics are of course stipulated, just like one
would devise a geometry with curvature & number of spatial dimensions
decided at a whim, just to see what happens. It all falls back on a
selection of axioms. It may be indirect, spontaneous, random or
unconscious - but a selection. One cannot carry logic intact past its
own axioms; They resemble in this respect a singularity, and Black
Holes Have No Hair... (;)
You already pointed to this, only in other words; We are all clear.
I tried to give an explanation sufficient for the purpose of
notifying players unaware of this ...eh, *phenomenon*, about its
possible but, as said, minor impact - thereby compromising exactness
of expression to keep it short. (The 2 examples are enough to deduce
this compromise.) After all: How many of us can give a full account
of what happens inside our computers?
Anyway I am glad that this was already known, but then - it certainly
would have to be, added time & competence displayed in the LT Group.
Mark:
I have a couple of observations of earlier, that I sent to Mr.
Drouin. Maybe forwarded to You, and most probably noted before.
Please check Your mail. (Currently my ISP's mail server is slow, but
then I am not trying to hurry, but to help. The task's reward equals
its urgency ...and - You are talking soccer, right?)
Felix Exuternalia & good taxonomist luck with the Bug file!
