Although Harvey is prob in the best position to comment specifically
on his LTUpdate, there are some wider issues related to your question
which I thought I could assist with.
The short answer is that you don't need any proprietary zip program
for LTUpdate to do its thing.
Further info: Windows XP has zipping built in. It doesn't compress
files as much as some other programs, but with the size hard drives
these days, it makes little diff whether the zipfile is 2.09MB or
1.97MB.
As you would have seen, you can open up a zipfile from Windows
Explorer and there will be an option to extract (decompress) the
files. You can also drag and drop files into and out of the zipfile
as if it were a normal folder.
It's also easy to create a zipfile. There are (as always) a couple of
ways to do it but I find the easiest is to select from the menu in
Explorer, FILE...NEW...Compressed_(zipped)_folder similarly to as if
I was creating a new ordinary folder, and then to simply drag and
drop the files I want zipped into it.
The cost for this advice is only $25, so I have saved you $5! Buy
yourself an early Xmas present. Please leave the money in a plain
brown wrapper in the usual place.
