ICQ:
If the person is not online, it will send the message as an offline report,
the SAME as in the group
If the person IS online, the message will be accepted/denied, received, and
read... this is basically the same as the group except the messages are sent
by email, which almost immediately are received when using an email client
(like Outlook Express, or Microsoft Outlook)
The only difference/advantage is the not-so-unique interactive chat on icq.
This serves the same purpose as YIM.
----------------------------
GROUP MESSAGING:
Offline messaging is only choice, received instantly if messages are
received and read using an email client.
All time zones will benefit from this form of messaging, and I believe this
will continue to be the route for messaging as long as there are different
time zones.
----------------------------
Either way. offline messaging/emails are the best way to go when this many
members have this many time zones. I, myself, have tried to make interactive
chatting work... but it basically can't be enjoyed by all members who care.
