Dear Donald,
If you don't know how to install Windows, the following instructions: put the startup diskette in, choose vor virtual CD-rom player.
Type D: when you get D: in your screen then type after D: SETUP and after that touch enter (DIR is allways in DOS what is to see on the diskette). After that the party is going to start. I'm sending all this information not to trouble you, but give some assistance to your tryings to get your computer working again. For all that it is worth I'm certainly willing to donate money, because you have done so many things for everybody.

Normally the start- up-diskette of 98 SE has no FORMAT, see attach. I hereby send you the FORMAT.
The startup diskette has FDISK, when you have formatted you should enter FDISK/MBR, and with a little bit of luck you should be able to install everything with you diskette and your CD-Rom '98.

Good news and bad news:

First the good news: ============ ==== My Lasertank files are now saved on some CD, we have been able to extract them from my HD by installing it into the computer of my brother-in-law.
All the LPB, LVL, GHS etc... are in security now. Now the bad news:
============ === It took us many attempt in order to be able to extract the files from the HD, we were often getting errors and had to retry many times.
I won't trust this HD anymore.
Anyway, my brother-in-law tried to to reinstall windows but without success. Due to the strange behavior of the machine, he think I'm due to buy a new one but my financial situation doesn't allow me to buy it right now.
Another good news:
============ ==== I've been able to activate my email server from the computer of my brother-in-law so you can continue to send me your messages, levels files, LPB files, GHS files etc...
I'll be able to answer you once a day when visiting my brother-in-law. I'll do the next LaserTank update as soon as I'll buy a new machine.
