Suyono is correct - the ratings aren't just there for bragging rights. People can filter the levels that appear next by difficulty, or simply skip levels and maybe come back to them later after they have solved all of the rest of the THOUSANDS of levels. I've never gotten hints. Generally, I skip Sokoban levels and VERY long levels, but not the short, difficult levels. Some levels seems like magic (the David Copperfield type of magic, not the Lord of the Rings type of magic). I've learned some simple magic, and it is pretty much psychology based, (usually when you see it, you wonder "how the heck did he do that!?) Then when you see how it is done you think, "oh, is that all it is" or "well, i sort of knew that" or "if i thought about it, i could have figured it out." Generally, being given the solution is unsatisfying. Sound familiar? The magic is in the mystery, not the solution.
Don't forget, Donald is hosting this club out of the kindness of his
heart, for his own enjoyment, and to provide enjoyment to others, and uploading
lpb's all the time doesn't really sound like a whole lot of fun to me.
