I'm supportive to it. However, I
disagree if some of its levels will be
hauled into other files.
Many of the levels are obviously
"Sokoban" or "Beginner" levels, but
they are the levels that make
LaserTank.LVL a complete level file.
(One or two "Special" levels show the
richness of LaserTank.) Most new
players download LT from some links
somewhere and get the level file in one
packet. They don't know other level
files and they enjoy the antique and
primordial*) but complete level file.
*) Sorry, I exaggerated a bit.
Furthermore, we can see the history in
the LT file. It's like finding fossils.
After so many levels, we find that
Kheper used Crystal Block for the first
time (#184) and Jim Kindley used Rotary
Mirror for the first time (#196). Ice
and Tunnels were introduced in #771 by
James Hallam. Thin Ice by Andy in #781.
Exception: Jim Kindley (the LT owner)
moved his two levels to #1 (Complete)
and #32 (Crystal Block).
Many new levels in new files refer to
LT levels. (Written in the hints.) The
original levels must be preserved, so
the thread is not broken.
Can we call the LT levels as "The
original 2030"?
Bye,
Suyono
