I've been hearing that Photoshop 6 is the "best" 2d artwork prog. What is
your opinion? and if this is not the best, what is the best in your eyes?

The latest version of Photoshop that I have is 5.0, limited edition.
Although I don't use it very often, Photoshop seems to be the most
powerful program for image editing. As for the 6.0 version, you can
download a demo (with disabled print and save features) at this
address, but make sure you have a fast connection:
http://download.cnet.com/downloads/0-10077-100-4824970.html?
tag=st.dl.10001-103-1.lst-7-1.4824970
If you don't like the demo, you could also try more basic programs
like Jasc Paint Shop Pro, Ulead Photo Impact, or the one I use, Corel
Photo-paint.
